  • You have until November 30th to let us know if you’re coming!

  • Chiapas is state in the south of Mexico, it’s capital is Tuxtla Gutierrez. It’s known for having some of the most diverse flora and fauna, and some of the most important pre-hispanic archaeological sites in Mexico.

Our Wedding is going to be in a town called Chiapa de Corzo, about 20 minutes away from the capital.

The main tourist destination in Chiapas is called San Cristobal de las Casas, and it’s a 1 hour drive from where we’re getting married.

  • We recommend arriving at Chiapa de Corzo on Friday March 20th, the day before the wedding and staying until Monday at the most.

Chiapa de Corzo is a small, quaint town, but there’s not a lot to do (other than go to a wedding). So we recommend staying going to San Cristobal the week before or after the wedding to make the most of your trip!

  • As we said in th Dress Code section of the site, the climate in Chiapa de Corzo is tropical, so it will be fairly warm in March.

However, San Cristobal de las Casas is high in the mountains and is a lot colder than the rest a Chiapas. If you plan on visiting, pack a jacket and possibly a umbrella or light raincoat.

  • There are plenty of shuttles, buses and taxis that move between Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapa de Corzo and San Cristobal, and the latter two are very walkable.

If you plan on doing lots of day trips or simply are more comfortable driving yourself, go for it. Even so, we would highly suggest you take guided tours to any towns with large indigenous populations like San Juan Chamula and avoid driving late at night on highways.
